Bet you would never have thought you would hear that from an Internet marketer. But, let me explain exactly what I mean.

Most, including myself in the past, would buy every how to make money online product that came out looking for that one method that would make me rich. Well guess what happens when you constantly buy products? Information overload sets in and you become either in a permanent learning mode or you become very overwhelmed.

To actually make money online you need to stay in the learning mode just long enough to take the next step needed. This keeps you from getting overwhelmed and staying broke.

You need to learn Internet marketing one step at a time. When you try to learn it all at once, you set yourself up to becoming a permanent student that just buys and buys and buys while not making a dime.

The best method for learning to make money online is to buy eBooks, guides, courses etc that will help you now. Not later but now, with the step you are on.

So if you are at step one and trying to decide what method you want to use and learn to make money online, you should only be looking at information and products that will help you make this decision.

After you have decide on a money making method, your next step would be to research and find your niche within that method. At this point only look at information and products that will help you select your niche.

As you finish each step, you would then and only then, move on to learning the next step. This way you are constantly moving forward and actually taking action at each step. Taking action is what is going to make you money, not the actual learning.

I’m going to repeat myself here. Only buy products that will help you learn the step you are currently on.

But Rob? I see all of these really cool courses that will teach me everything! I can answer that with this statement. If you are just learning to make money online, you will rush through these courses and get totally overwhelmed and just end up with a smaller bank account. Buy only what you need to take the next step. I can’t say that enough.

Now after you have learned the basics on making money online and have actually started to make money, you can then consider buying these larger courses to learn more techniques. They do have their benefit and are very valuable, but only if they are not going to put you in a permanent learning mode or overwhelm you.

So please stick to purchasing only what you need as you need it. You will be miles ahead of the pack if you do this, and your bank account will thank you.

Today I want to cover several ways to get traffic to your new blog. The more traffic you can bring to your blog the more money you can make.

One popular method to drive traffic to your blog is called article marketing. You create short articles that are about 400 words long and post them to the popular article sites. You can learn more about article marketing by visiting the following link.

Do some searches on the search engines and see if you can find any forums on your blog subject. Then become active on the forums and respond to peoples questions. What you want to do is position yourself as an expert on your subject. Do not blatantly advertise! This will get you banned.

Most forums have what is called a signature line. The majority of the time they will allow you to advertise your site in your signature.

Looking for a way to find out what people are shopping for online? Well I stumbled across Google Shopping and found a cool feature they have.

First surf on over to Google at http://www.google.com/ Then click on “Shopping” in the upper left. This will bring you to Google’s product search engine. Take a look at  “A few of the items recently found with Google Product Search:”

You will see a list of what people have recently typed into the search engine that they are looking to BUY. Note I used the word BUY. These are people that are wanting to buy specific products now.

Now here is the cool feature I discovered. The list of searches change each time you refresh the page. So keep refreshing the page to get more and more ideas of products you can sell, that are actually being searched for by ready buyers.

Blogging has been around for many years now and has become quite popular. Most people use blogs to record their thoughts and lives, while a few use them as a free way to make money online. In this series I’ll be covering the basics on how to setup a blog and make money from it.

First you are going to need a blog. You can setup a free one at wordpress.com or blogger.com or better yet host your own blog on your own website. If you have your own hosting and website you can download WordPress for free from wordpress.org. It’s actually very easy to install. Just read the instructions that come with it. You will have it installed in just a few minutes.

Now that you have your blog, you will want to start posting 250 to 500 word posts a few times a week to start. You want these posts to be as informative to your readers as possible so they will want to bookmark your blog and become a follower of yours.

There are several ways to make money from your blog. Here are two popular methods.

The first method is by adding Google Adsense ad blocks to your blog. You can join Google Adsense by clicking the following link.

Google Adsense will read your pages and determine the best ads to display on your blog. You get paid each time someone clicks on any of the Adsense ads you have displayed on your blog.

The next method and the one I prefer is to locate products or services that you can recommend to your readers and be paid a commission on each sale you generate.

One of the best ways to make money from your blog is to write reviews on different products and or services. You would want to keep your blog mostly full of free valuable information and work in your product reviews when it is appropriate.
